Seeking an experienced Contract Officer to support a team in East Perth, starting ASAP

**Your new company**
A government organisation based in East Perth are seeking an experienced Contract Officer to join a particular portfolio of the department, supporting the Contract Coordinator. In this role you will initially be engaged on a temporary basis, working full-time hours and paid at a competitive hourly rate.

**Your new role**

As the Contract Officer, you will be responsible for:

- Coordinating the full contract management life cycle including procuring, monitoring, evaluating and auditing
- Managing relationships with stakeholders and contractors, providing guidance and feedback as needed
- Assist with procurement activities, including tender evaluation for panels
- Maintaining the contract management database, including spreadsheets
- Ensure that assessment processes for policies are being managed in established timeframes

**What you'll need to succeed**

In order to be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

- Well-developed contract management skills
- Previous experience in managing government procurement and contracts (desirable)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in handling contract negotiations
- The ability to work as part of a team and also autonomously
