Our Facilities team is responsible for the day-to-day service and provision of safe, functional facilities across our full campus by delivering maintenance, cleaning, security and other operational programs, as well as long term strategic property upgrades and development.

Wenona supports both academic and support staff to develop their expertise through initiatives such as Wenona Teaching Fellowships, Seeding Grants and ongoing outstanding professional learning that develops and supports career development into the future.

**Key priorities**:
Under the direction and supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Assistant Facilities Manager is responsible for proactively supporting the day-to-day organisation and operation of the School's property including facilities, grounds, and buildings across all campuses to ensure the School is safe, secure, and well maintained.

This will include, but not be limited to:

- Ensure all school facilities, grounds and buildings are safe, compliant with all applicable regulations and well presented.
- Project management and oversight of maintenance and minor capital works, as delegated by the Facilities Manager.
- Support the Facilities Manager in the preparation and management of annual maintenance budgets.
- Identification and lodgement of purchasing requests for the department, plus budget tracking and invoice management.
- Oversee maintenance tenders.
- Maintenance of departmental policies and reporting requirements.
- Act as first escalation point for and supervisor of Leading Hand and Maintenance Supervisor roles.

**Education and Experience**:

- A minimum of three years facilities management experience, incorporating multiple properties and grounds. Experience with independent schools or similar is highly desirable.
- Tertiary qualification in construction, project management, engineering or property services is desirable.
- Strong relevant technical skills with knowledge and experience in onsite management or onsite senior coordination of the safe operation of multiple properties.
- Previous experience supervising employees, scheduling and directing work, evaluating performance and coaching for improvement.
- Refined project management skills - including the capacity to meet deadlines, plan for and deliver outcomes that will meet diverse needs.
- Experience in budgeting, reporting and generating maintenance schedules.

- Eye for detail and an appreciation of aesthetics and quality maintenance of facilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to bring people on the journey.
- Understanding of WHS and associated risk and compliance features.
- Willingness to engage in the full life of the School.
- A sense of humour.
- NSW Paid Employee Working with Children Check.

**General conditions of the role**:

- **Award**:Independent Schools NSW (Support and Operational Staff) Multi Enterprise Agreement 2021.
- **Classification**: Maintenance Level 3, however the salary and conditions will be negotiated with the Principal depending on experience and qualifications.
- **Hours of work**: Full time: Mon-Fri
- **Reporting Line**: All positions report to the Principal.
- **The line manager for this position is**: Facilities Manager
- **Professional Learning**: You will be expected to attend and contribute to all staff professional development days and requirements as outlined in the School's calendar.
- **Parking**: There is no car parking provision for this role.
