**About the role**:
As a vital link between customers and Transgrid, the Customer Engagement Specialist takes centre stage in ensuring a seamless connection experience. From the first inquiry to commercial operations and service adjustments, this role builds strong relationships, fosters trust, and consistently exceeds expectations.

Overseeing the entire customer journey, from initial inquiries—both informal and formal—to connection, commercial operation, and beyond, the role also involves collaborating with established customers to address ongoing operations and evolving connection or transmission service needs.

The main focus of this role is connection enquiries, and you will be someone with a high level of technical expertise including an understanding of the National Electricity Network and National Electricity Rules. You will have an understanding of electrical infrastructure and how it fits into the rules.

By championing customer satisfaction, not only will you enhance Transgrid’s reputation but also identify growth opportunities and strategic partnerships that propel the business forward.

**What will your day look like?**
- Manage the Connection Enquiry process, in accordance with Transgrid policies, to ensure Transgrid meets its obligations under the National Electricity Rules.
- Facilitate customer engagements with Transgrid technical specialists prior to and following formal Connection Enquiry submissions to ensure the customer understands the process and the outcomes of their enquiry.
- Respond to and action customer requests in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.

**About you**
- Tertiary qualifications at degree level in an appropriate discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of the electricity industry and transmission network connections and services.
- Developed understanding of the National Electricity Rules regarding Network Connections.
- Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills to enhance relationships and reputation.
- Solid experience as a customer relationship manager, account executive or suitably equivalent role.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with stakeholders and customers at all organisational levels
- Capacity to make or recommend effective commercial decisions which create or preserve value and are assessed against defined business objectives
- Ability to leverage through customer data, insight and feedback to inform and influence business improvement strategies related to customer service.
