**Description**
We are seeking a passionate, experienced regulatory affairs professional for our financial services organisation. As our new Manager Regulatory Affairs, you will coordinate RACQ’s external regulatory relations; contributing significantly to the way in which our organisation relates to government bodies, regulators, and oversight bodies. The role promotes constructive regulatory affairs practices across the senior leadership team and provides initial advice on future regulatory opportunities and challenges. You will be responsible for maintaining RACQ’s holistic record of regulatory interactions and correspondence.
You will provide leadership for a small team of specialists providing expert advice and input into the strategy with insight into regulatory requirements across banking, insurance, and our Group.

Key responsibilities include
- Developing RACQ
- s views on proposed legislative and regulatory changes with stakeholders
- Engage with relevant bank, insurance and group stakeholders including Group Chief Risk Officer, Advocacy, executives, and responsible managers.
- Engage with, advocate for and support other risk and compliance functional staff.
- Support board and committee reporting as required.
- Provide input into APRA and ASIC reporting and other oversight bodies as required.
- Influence projects, initiatives, and other business changes in responding to, or in the context of, financial services regulatory change.
Key skills & experience
- Senior experience within an insurance or banking environment with a focus on regulatory affairs or public policy.
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulator operations, financial services sector operations, and highly regulated environments.
- A strong understanding of the financial services regulatory framework in Australia.
- Comprehensive understanding of contemporary and emerging issues and challenges for the financial services sector in Australia, and internationally.
- Engagement and communication with, and influencing of, boards and senior executives.
- Highly developed leadership experience and capability.
- Continuous improvement coaching, facilitation, and advocacy abilities
- Exceptional situational analysis to uncover hidden insights
- Attention to detail and thoroughness of execution
- Superior communication skills, verbal and written
