**About the role**
The main objective of this role is to create and implement data-driven technical pricing strategies, with a focus on a customer-centred approach to the creation of analytical solutions that support product and service offerings. The person in this position will be responsible for managing the pricing analytics function at RACQ, working in collaboration with different departments within the company to identify ways to use data to improve the customer experience. Specific responsibilities include:
- Creating and implementing technical pricing solutions that use diagnostic, descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
- Working with the Insurance Pricing team to develop sustainable technical pricing solutions across all portfolios.
- Assisting the organisation with pricing related issues when creating new products, making system changes, and testing pricing changes.
- Developing and maintaining models for assessing risk associated with specific perils, such as floods, cyclones, bushfires, earthquakes, and storm surges.
- Providing analytical advice and recommendations.
- Providing guidance and mentorship to team members to improve their skills and foster a positive team dynamic.
**About you**
You will have experience in a general insurance pricing, analytical or actuarial environment. You will also have
- Significant experience in General Insurance pricing, Personal Lines preferred.
- Significant experience leading and delivering complex work programs in a domain-centric business model.
- Highly developed experience and expertise in the design, development, testing, deployment and implementation of descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytic solutions using a broad range of technologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability of data analysis and interpretation skills, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to build robust, pragmatic predictive models and validating their performance.
- Familiarity IAA and General Insurance regulatory frameworks and standards.
- Knowledge of industry tools such as SAS, R, Python, and EMBLEM.
