**About the role**
We have a new management position available in our Insurance Experience and Optimisation team to head up our Risk and Compliance team. The Manager Insurance Risk and Resilience will lead the first line risk advisory and assurance function across Insurance, focusing on supporting, building and enhancing risk management capabilities across our insurance divisions. As the Manager, you will focus on robust and appropriate processes, and lead excellence in implementation of risk frameworks and policies across the function.
This role has five direct reports, working hybrid from our Eight Mile Plains office. You will support, coach and mentor your team to deliver member-centric, risk aware results across the Insurance lines. This role is a hands-on leadership role, providing first line support to Business Executives and managers in support of risk management. You will work closely with second
- and third-line risk functions, particularly with risk and compliance staff. Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Design and implement operational risk management policies, processes and requirements to ensure Insurance continues to meet compliance, regulatory and audit requirements.
- Lead the continuous improvement of the implementation of risk management framework and building the first LOD risk capability across Insurance
- Work with managers and the Insurance Executive Committee to improve business resilience and continuity.
- Lead and support the execution of assurance and compliance related risk control testing and treatment plans within the business, and
- Engage with, advocate to, and collaborate with other risk and compliance functional staff working within Group Risk and Compliance, Internal Audit, and within other business lines.
**About you**
For this role we are looking for an experience manager within a governance and regulatory background with risk and compliance experience. You will have experience in implementation of risk principles, policies, guidelines, regulatory insurance codes and regulations, and an operational understanding of general insurance lines. Further to this, it will be important that you have:
- A minimum university degree in a relevant study area
- At least 5 years relevant experience within an insurance related role
- Proven experience in leading teams within a supervisory position, with a coaching and mentoring experience
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and embed frameworks to provide structure, focussing on uplifting performance/compliance/capability, and
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills and people engagement capability.
