**Do work that matters**

As the Executive Manager of Data Engineering, you will lead a highly committed team of engineers to accelerate the development of data, digital and analytics capabilities across our business _. _We’re focused on harnessing the power of data and transforming it into meaningful insights that enhance our customer experience, strengthen our businesses, and support the broader CBA group fulfil critical operational and analytical functions.

You are a passionate data engineer with experience in delivering enterprise scale data platforms and leading engineering teams through complex problem spaces. You know that data is valuable but for that value to be unlocked it must first be underpinned by solid data engineering. You're comfortable getting ‘hands on’ with the data and very particular about driving data engineering practice excellence and efficiencies through automation. You are equally comfortable interacting with business stakeholders, understanding and interpreting their requirements.

**Specifically you will**
- Lead engineering and delivery teams being accountable for:

- Establishing a new cloud (AWS) native data lake.
- Develop and optimise scalable, resilient data pipelines.
- Design, develop and implement ETL, event and API solutions optimized to run in a cloud environment.
- Create data mappings, data modelling, data profiling, query design, data flow design
- Provide inspiring leadership and coaching to a diverse engineering team from graduates through to senior engineers.
- Contribute to strategy and development of technology roadmaps that support the evolving needs of a dynamic business.
- Build and embed a strong innovation capability and culture across the IB&M Technology team
- Drive coordinated engineering activities and contribute to a proactive risk and control culture and collaborate with the business.
- Be someone who is well versed in the latest trends and techniques for building data pipelines for analytical/machine learning solutions
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal - able to represent your team to various internal stakeholder groups and forums.
- Have an ability to foster relationships and the confidence to build credibility, rapport and influence business stakeholders;
- Embed controls assurance and continuous improvement through control automation

**We want to hear from you if you have**
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, or related IT discipline.
- 10+ years working as a Data Engineer and leading engineering teams within a large, complex environment.
- Competency in Cloud Technologies (i.e., AWS: SQS, SES, S3, Lambda, etc.)
- Experience with data pipeline engineering, database design (SQL, SQL, Data Lake), API design, or distributed systems.
- Experience collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to build a high-level roadmap.
- Highly proficient in either Python, Go, Node.js including advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with RESTful Design and real-time messaging services (eg Kafka).
- Experience with Snowflake, Kubernetes/AWS Fargate desirable.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders through deep technical expertise, customer/domain knowledge and vision and objective, collaborates with senior stakeholders to secure funding for new initiative
- Experience establishing and leading DevOps and Agile environments, as well as continuous integration
