**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
- Mercy Mental Health, a provider of Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing services in the southwest metropolitan area of Melbourne, is seeking an experienced Lived Experience Co-Design Lead to join our Project Management Office team. We are looking for a person with lived experience of accessing publicly funded mental health services or: a family member or carer of someone who has experience of accessing publicly funded mental health services. This role will facilitate organizational capability in working collaboratively with people who have lived experience of mental illness and / or substance use or addiction, either as a consumer or carer. The role will work with the leadership team to facilitate co-design / co-production with consumers and carers in a range of initiatives across the program. These initiatives will aim to enhance consumer and carer experience as we transform the service to deliver on recommendations of the Mercy Mental Health Service Plan 2019-2032 and the Royal Commission into Mental Health Victoria. You will use redesign methodology to engage with staff, consumers and carers and ensure long-term sustainability of change initiatives.
- This is a part-time role based at Saltwater Clinic in Footscray and will work across sites including Werribee Mercy Hospital. Salary and conditions in accordance with qualifications and experience. The opportunity to undertake training in co-design methods will be considered in line with relevant experience.
**About you**
- Lived experience as a mental health consumer or as a carer of a mental health consumer
- Experience working in a dedicated lived experience workforce role in mental health
- A minimum diploma level in health, welfare, community development and / or adult education (or equivalent industry experience)

- Mercy Mental Health (South West Area Mental Health Service) is a public mental health service supporting people in south west metropolitan Melbourne with severe and complex mental illnesses by providing acute and community-based care. Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
