**Based at Thomas Embling Hospital** just 15 minutes north of the city and working across all our directorates. With significant growth planned for the team, our Lived Experience team are an integral part of implementing recovery approaches for mental health consumers and carers. Lived experience workers bring expertise developed from their own mental health experiences.

**Based at our Prison Directorate Corporate Office located in Derrimut**, just 20 minutes west of the city. Our Prison Directorate provides specialist forensic mental health services across 12 of Victoria's 14 prisons with expansion underway to include Western Plains in the Barwon region.

**About the Role**:
The Lived Experience Lead will provide expert peer support across their directorate and will provide advice and support about peer work across Forensicare's other work environments. The Lived Experience Lead will work with the Lived Experience Team, to ensure an integrated and collaborative approach to lived experience work at Forensicare, embedding Lived experience as part of the multi disciplinary team, always ensuring service design and delivery across Forensicare has the consumer at the forefront

**Duties**:

- Support the Lived Experience Workforce to work purposefully with consumers
- Provide guidance, Role modelling and supervision to lived experience staff
- Support consumer lead and co-designed activities

**About You**:

- Have experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Have a lived experience of the Mental Health or Criminal Justice system as a consumer or carer
- Understand the stigma associated with mental health and criminal justice.
- An understanding and commitment to the Lived experience and consumer movement, human rights and person centred care.

**What you need**:

- A personal lived experience of being a mental health consumer or carer of a mental health consumer.
- Supervisory and team leadership skills to lead and support a team which comprises of peer workers and consumers consultants
- Experience in a leadership or management role
- Ability to work in a complex and changing environment, and confidence to liaise with a wide range of people and professionals
