We are seeking Maintenance Supervisor for a permanent Full-Time opportunity to join our friendly and dedicated team in Cairns Aged Care Centre located in Chapel Hill.

Our Cairns Aged Care Centre is a modern, spacious home located in the beautiful, leafy suburb of Chapel Hill with Mt Coot-tha Forest as the backdrop. The centre has links to major transport networks, local services and is only 20 minutes away from the Brisbane CBD.

About the Role

As a collaborative member of the staff team, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the overall maintenance of the internal and external environment of the sites. You will ensure safety and maintenance of equipment checks and assist with a variety of housekeeping and support service functions to ensure optimum standards in the physical environment of the site.

The role will be responsible for;
- Lead and mentor Maintenance Staff within the team and/or from employees within the Centre assisting maintenance functions.
- Supervise the overall maintenance of internal and external environment of the facility by ensuring reactive and preventative maintenance activities are completed as scheduled and within the required time frames.
- Ensure all essential safety requirements including fire safety, electrical and other legislative tasks are carried out in accordance with standards, policies, and legislation within the facility.
- Manage and maintain compliance documentation as per the disciplines and activities set out within the Planned Preventative Maintenance Manual. Ensure contractor engagement meets all pre-qualifications in safety, compliance and WHS.

About You

To be successful in the role you will have;
- Demonstrated experience in the management and planning of building and grounds maintenance, including proven strong safety knowledge and skills
- Demonstrated excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to manage complex workloads and prioritise work according to changing demands
- Demonstrated understanding and proven ability to select and use suitable tools and techniques, including a strong knowledge of electrical power tools and hand tools
- High level verbal and written communication skills with patience and sensitivity appropriate for aged care resident liaison

Requirements of the role:

- Preferred trade background/previous experience in building maintenance.
- Current Drivers Licence
- Full Covid Vaccination (including booster)
- Current Flu Vaccination if applicable
- QLD NDIS screening check
