
Product Development Manager

Coldbuster Floor Heating is a vibrant, dynamic, family-owned and operated business operating throughout Australia. Located in a comfortable office/warehouse in Frenchs Forest, we pride ourselves on our great reputation and running a team with dedication and friendliness.
Working closely with the Managing Director, the successful applicant will be responsible _for _identifying, _researching, assessing, and coordinating the development of new products_, from conception to launch.
**Duties include, but are not limited to the following**:
- Primary - undertake all functions to bring to market new goods and services, including:
- research market trends to find unmet needs and competing products
- evaluate new product ideas to determine feasibility and potential market demand
- manage relationships with suppliers, including negotiating contracts, reviewing samples and approving finished products
- develop and implement protocols for evaluating technical feasibility and testing
- oversee quality assurance to ensure products satisfy all internal and external requirements, including compliance with industry standards and regulations
- collaborate with others to implement strategies and design new goods or services
- help management make strategic decisions about design elements, materials, manufacturing methods and other factors that affect a product’s performance, safety, cost and aesthetics
- establish timelines for each phase of the product development process
- manage financial resources associated with each product development project
- keep abreast of technological advances to determine potential impacts on product development
- develop risk-management procedures and maintain and analyse problem logs to identify and report recurring issues to management and suppliers
- Secondary:
- add value where opportunities arise
- act with passion/interest as if it is his/her own business
- specific tasks/projects for Owners from time to time
- be flexible to help with any other tasks typical in a business of this type,as may be required
**Requirements**:
- excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- exceptional project management skills, including planning, organising and overseeing the development of a product from start to finish
- ability tocreatively develop innovative products that customers want and develop strategies
- problem-solving skills to identify and address issues that arise during the product development process
- a positive attitude, possessing a high level of courtesy and professionalism
- acute listening, time management and problem-solving skills
- strong work ethic and eye for detail
- desire to demonstrate initiative and be proactive
- intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office competence
