**Job Title**:Industrial Designer -Junior Product Design Assistant

**Role Overview**:
As our Junior Product Design Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our design team with the development of new products, testing samples, drafting technical drawings, and modelling in Fusion 360.

Your responsibilities will extend to testing prototypes, assisting with product specification development, sourcing components, engaging with suppliers, and potentially interacting with customers. You will also collaborate with production to develop assembly documentation, verify assembly procedures, and address any issues that arise. This is a full-time position suited for recent top university graduates or individuals with some industry experience.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist our lead designer in the development of new lighting products.
- Test samples, prototypes, and product components.
- Draft technical drawings and create models using Fusion 360.
- Render products using keyshot.
- Develop and maintain product specifications.
- Source components and liaise with suppliers.
- Engage with customers to gather feedback and requirements.
- Collaborate with production to develop assembly documentation.
- Verify assembly procedures and address any production issues.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Required
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product design or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in parametric modelling CAD (Fusion 360 is desired)
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with a team.
- A keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills for internal, supplier and customer interactions.
- Enthusiasm for product design and innovation.
- A strong personal portfolio highlighting past industrial design projects, whether personal or professional. Genuine passion for industrial design and design in general, with a solid grasp of industry history and current trends.
- Highly regarded
- Knowledge of product assembly and production processes.
- Understanding of prototyping and testing processes.
- Experience in design for manufacturing (CNC lathe, VMC, 3D printing, injection moulding etc)
- Comfortable using hand tools and basic workshop machinery.
- Experience or keen interest in lighting design would be advantageous
- Experience in product rendering using Keyshot.

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
