Software engineering teams within Group Operations Technology (GOT) play a key role in helping us to achieve this goal. These specialist teams ensure that our Pega systems maintain the highest standards of service outcomes for our customers, which enables seamless execution of our award-winning operational excellence.

You will oversee the adoption of Pega case management principles and practices across the Group, setting strategic direction, influencing the roadmaps of internal product and platform teams. As a technical leader, you will both build and support developer tooling, which will unlock and accelerate the scaled adoption of the best Pega and Cloud principles and practices across the business unit. You will provide advice, guidance and expertise in developing proposals and strategies for software design activities. You will be a well-rounded leader with natural strengths in managing senior stakeholders, managing external vendors and driving low code business process environments.

This is a Hybrid role and the team usually comes into the office one/two days per week. We are open to people working from our newest tech hub based in Melbourne, or within the stunning Sydney offices. You can also work from one of our upcoming, upgraded tech hubs based in Adelaide, Perth, and Brisbane too

We are seeking people who are:

- Naturally talented to balance cultural, people, and technology requirements
- Able to communicate well, work across boundaries, share problems and build a “one team” mentality across time zones, cultures and working styles
- Senior leaders in Software Engineering, specialising in Pega principles and practices, creating and reviewing SLI’s, SLO’s and SLA’s.
- Able to drive outsourcing capability, vendor performance - risk, financials and strategy
- Passionate about leadership and empowering engineers to solve problems with locality and simplicity
- Able to show tenacity, persistent and personal resilience to drive a major cultural transformation
- Constantly identify technology limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and associated processes, and use software engineering platforms to develop scalable and sustainable improvements.
- Able to drive project initiatives and lead collaborative leadership impact with diversity of thoughts, to uplift team’s overall capability
- Love to influence executive stakeholders, and modify Group processes, platforms and systems, working with multiple cross functional engineering teams and end-user teams, so that our service is a first-class feature, which our teams deliver with mínimal friction.

Tech skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We do not expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these, or a willing to learn these skillsets (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team
