You will be a well-rounded leader with natural strengths in managing senior stakeholders, managing external vendors and driving business process environments. As the Executive Manager for one of our Data Engineering chapters, you will be responsible for people leadership and capability uplift programs, alongside being the strategic influencer of business partnerships that connect the internal crews with different squads and programs of work.

Chief Data and Analytics Office is responsible for CommBank’s key analytics capabilities and work to create world-leading capabilities for analytics, information management and decisioning. We work across the Teradata Group Data Warehouse, Hadoop Big Data Platform, Analytics Workbench for Machine Learning, Pega Decisioning, SAS, R, Tableau, Oracle BI, Ab Initio.

You will lead and manage the Data Delivery chapter’s technical roadmap and help foster a culture of collaborative mindset within the teams, leading the cultural transformation by creating an open, safe and fun working environment for the chapters you lead. As a Crew Lead, you will be the expert of the tech landscape in the Crew with a clear vision regarding trends and capabilities that can create competitive advantage for the Crew.

Your role will focus on enabling agility within the crews, inspiring them to embody future ways of working to deliver strategic outcomes in alignment with the technology strategy, to meet the business objectives. You will support implementation of practices, tooling and trainings provided in the Crew, making key technical decisions in relation to architecture, development, engineering governance frameworks and controls.

- Able to support Chapter Leads to build, lead and inspire the crews within the data delivery and data ingestion squads.
- Passionate to bridge the gap between business strategy and technical solutions within Crew, reducing tech dependencies across Squads and Crews, by encouraging transparency between the crews.
- Inspired to drive a Tech culture of growth and continuous improvement (CI) based on data( metrics)
- Adept with executive level stakeholder management skills that enable the promotion of team’s ideas
- Able to inspire crews to operate with a mentality of constructively challenging each other where appropriate to achieve collective goals and outcomes
- Good at identifying technology limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and associated platforms to develop scalable and sustainable long term solutions
- Able to drive data transformational projects, creating a positive leadership impact within the crews by encouraging diversity of thoughts, to uplift the chapter’s overall technical capability.

**Tech skills**:
We use a broad range of innovative tools, scalable platforms and process frameworks as a technology driven banking organization. We do not expect you to know them all but deep experience or exposure in leading largely diverse group of engineering crews in a similar environment will set you up for success in this role
- People management and executive stakeholder engagement skills, with previous experience in playing leadership roles within data engineering.
- Expertise in leading and driving team of engineers that work with Scala, Hadoop, AWS, and Snowflake will be highly desirable.
