**Your new role**
The ILS manager is responsible for supporting the maintenance and growth of the ILS capability for acquisition projects and follow-on sustainment tasks.

You will:

- as required, act as a delegate for the Support Systems Engineering Manager
- undertake resource management for the ILS team(s)
- provide mentoring and supervision to the Logistics Engineering Team
- develop support system specifications, design and implementation plans
- manage the execution of implementation plans
- provide logistics engineering input into contract/subcontract scoping and negotiations, project planning, system design, and implementation and out-source developmental engineering efforts
- as required, provide input to life cycle cost analysis for combat system acquisition and sustainment scope
- as required, direct logistics engineering effort for acquisition and sustainment projects, in the areas of:

- reliability, maintainability and availability analysis;
- failure, mode effect and criticality analysis;
- level of repair analysis;
- spares analysis;
- PHS&T analysis;
- training; and
- obsolescence management
- provide input to the estimate of the cost of ILS effort, and manage the allocated budget and schedule
- review supplier and OEM generated ILS documentation as required
- perform other duties as assigned

**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this position you will have:

- tertiary qualification in Logistics Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Engineering
- experience in defence industry and its logistics practises and standards
- experience in LSA and R&M analysis tools
- experience in leading teams
- sound understanding of the system development and the inter-relation between the various ILS elements
- comprehensive understanding of configuration management

It is desirable that you will have:

- RAN or other navy support and ILS programs
- experience in working in an Authorised Maintenance Engineering Organisation and/or Authorised Supply Organisation or their equivalents
- support and involvement with large scale operationally critical complex software intensive systems experience
- Please note you must be an Australian Citizen to secure the required security clearance
