**About the Role**

This role presents a fantastic opportunity for a contemporary educational leader to drive the professional growth and continuous improvement of staff. The Associate Director of Academic Education (Literacy) works as part of departments and cohort teams to devise curriculum, promote effective teaching practices, and lead conversations focused on evidence of student learning which enables continual enhancement of professional practice. The Associate Director of Academic Education (Literacy) acts as a coach for other educators; providing feedback, supporting to refine practices and data analysis to inform forward planning and teaching.

***About You**

You are dedicated, passionate and possess the following:

- Proven experience to develop innovative academic pathways to achieve outstanding academic results for all students
- Curriculum knowledge and teaching and learning strategies from Pre-school to Year 6, explicitly with a focus on Literacy development
- The ability to work collaboratively with other members of staff, lead others and reflect on your own leadership
- Proven experience of living out the leadership values of integrity, curiosity, professionalism, creativity and collaboration
- PYP experience or an understanding of Inquiry pedagogy
- The ability to implement initiatives, project delivery and change management
- Administrative and organisational skills
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to the full life of an Independent school and a willingness to engage in School activities out of regular hours
- A track record of school leadership

- Appropriate qualifications
- A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
- A current National Police Check; and
- Full working rights within Australia.
