We have an exciting contract position for
**Systems Infrastructure Specialist** for one of our well-known client.

**Your new role**

The Systems Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering solutions. The role will support the Hosting Technology Manager in ensuring services on the infrastructure platforms are reliable, secure, and performing effectively and efficiently. Furthermore, the role is instrumental in reducing existing technical debt, challenging the status-quo, and continually improving the day-to-day operations of IT.
- Accountable for the reliability and security of cloud and on-premises Infrastructure services.
- Work closely with Strategy and Architecture to ensure that infrastructure-based solutions are aligned with the organisation’s strategic goals.
- Act as an ambassador for public and on-premises Infrastructure platforms with the promotion of continuous improvement through the design, delivery, and visibility of services.
- Identifying emerging technology solutions that reduce cost, increase efficiencies, enhance capabilities, reduce risk and improve security.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Extensive experience with on-premises and cloud-based architectures and platforms; including Azure, AWS, virtual (VMware) and physical servers, file storage (NetApp), and backup and restore technology.
- Significant experience with the creation, deployment of services on VMware, Azure, and/or AWS through continuous integration (“CI”), continuous deployment (“CD”) technologies like terraform and bitbucket pipelines.
- Experience of cloud commercial models and lead workshops to drive business outcomes whilst developing and designing technical solutions.

**Skills**
- Ability to automate the monitoring and alerting of cloud and on-premises Infrastructure solutions through hybrid cloud-based toolsets (e.g: Prometheus and Ansible)
- Automating infrastructure-based solutions on platforms through templating and patterns (e.g: terraform, bitbucket pipelines)
- Very strong core infrastructure skills in Microsoft RDS, DNS, dhcp, ntp, proxies, Windows Server, and Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with a broad range of core networking, Security, Storage and Container-based practices.
