An exciting senior and specialist opportunity has become available within a Government Department located in Ipswich for a Community Engagement Manager. Relevant professional qualification and/or substantial equivalent experience is essential for this temporary role which is for a period of up to 6 months.

We are looking for someone with experience managing engagement teams and who can also quickly pick up the management of a team of three direct reports.

This role will manage all aspects of their section to ensure high quality service delivery in the areas of Project Relationship Management, Stakeholder Relations Frameworks, Change Management, Project Communication and Business support.

**Key Responsibilities in this role**:

- Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of an organisational framework across the organisation which ensures effective communication with community stakeholders
- Ensure the organisation is effectively represented in all projects it is connected with and provide concise communication on the progress and reporting of identified projects to relevant stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to broadcast the organisation’s involvement in projects, the successes and progress of projects to the broader community, and where appropriate seek feedback from the community on those projects
- Monitor, measure and report the delivery of outcomes within the section
- Ensure effective staff development and management within the section
- Carefully manage sensitive issues
- Provide advice to Committees, Boards, Panels, Chief Executive Officer, General Managers and other managers as required
- Perform any other duties that may be directed from time to time by the position’s supervisor

**Applicants must be able to demonstrate**:

- Substantial knowledge and experience in the ongoing delivery of stakeholder relations within a government or other relevant organisation
- Substantial negotiation, consultation, interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of all relevant federal, state and local legislation and relevant policies and operating environment
- High-level capability in monitoring and evaluating section performance.
- High-level ability to plan and organise work so that the organisation’s strategic objectives are met and internal and external contract obligations are fulfilled
