**About the Role**:
John Holland Infrastructure in NSW is an already well-established top tier contractor and is growing and developing to reflect the enormous State and Federal Government investment into Infrastructure and Construction in NSW.

As part of this continued growth John Holland are now looking to engage with established Commercial Managers looking to join a top tier contractor where you will be encouraged to provide leadership, guidance and influence through the full life cycle of project within this large and diverse business unit.

This is a front end leadership role, you will engage with clients and key stakeholders to ensure that John Holland is represented in a highly competent and professional way to reflect on John Hollands position as an industry leader. This position will be based in Canterbury and support the Sydney Metro.

**To be successful in this role**:

- You will see yourself as a Contracts Manager wanting to step into a Commercial Manager role or alternatively be an established Commercial Manager looking to further their career in a key leadership role within a top tier contractor on major projects
- You will have a clear drive to achieve quality commercial outcomes and have demonstrated success in a senior commercial role within a tier one or tier two contractor
- You will use a combination of your degree in possibly QS, Law, Commerce, Engineering, Accounting or Finance and your project and business management skills to achieve best performance outcomes.
- Your career experience will include reviewing tender contractual provisions and preparing Contract Risk Assessments with key members of our senior management teams
- You will respond to commercial and contractual requirements post submission of tender
- Supporting Project Directors and Project Commercial Managers, including providing advice to site teams about contractual issues and mentoring of Site Contracts Staff in regards to contractual issues and strategies
- Providing commercial guidance to the Infrastructure business unit on contract and risk management, including costings and programming strategies

**To be successful in this key role, you must have**:

- Relevant Tertiary qualifications
- At least 10 years experience working in a similar role, ideally in a tier 1 contractor
- Demonstrated experience in claims management, performance reporting, commercial negotiations and progress of claims
- Sound understanding of Contract Law
- Ability to work autonomously to resolve issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
