**Position Information**:
Bellambi Public School is located on Dharawal land by the sea in the northern suburbs of Wollongong. Our school currently has nine classes, with a student population of 150 (37% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and 19% from a non-English speaking background). Two of our classes are part of our newly established Support Unit, called Acacia.
Our proud public school fosters a sense of belonging for all in a supportive and inclusive community. Learning is a partnership with parents, carers and others in the community, all of whom have a role to play in nurturing the love of learning needed for success.
We are guided by evidence based practices to inform and build our learning models that serve individual students across their life course in a rapidly changing world. Bellambi Public School is well known for its high performing teaching staff and rigorous curriculum opportunities. We offer extracurricular opportunities such as cooking, gardening, pottery, drumming and targeted wellbeing programs and further enrichment in STEM programs, Aboriginal Education, music and sport. Bellambi Public School's outstanding results in student growth data is achieved through high quality teaching, targeted student support and innovative educational opportunities.
Our focus areas for our school this year include Curriculum Reform in English and Mathematics, High Potential and Gifted Education, critical and creative thinking and community partnerships.
Our school is committed to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students reaching their full potential. The school funded Aboriginal Education Officer facilitates a wide range of connections to excel in cultural competency.
We support our students to prepare them for the world beyond school.

- Proven ability to build leadership capacity to establish a culture of continuous school improvement through exemplary planning and whole school evaluation processes.
- An inspiring, energetic leader with excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build trust to genuinely engage and build strong authentic connections with students, staff, parents and the wider community.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education.
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs.
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning.
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
