**Position Information**:
Berridale Public School is a small regional school located on Ngarigo land in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains. It is ideally situated approximately 30 kilometres from both Cooma and Jindabyne. The school has a student enrolment of 60 with approximately 5% of students identifying as Aboriginal. The small but dedicated staff are committed to creating positive and caring learning environments that provide students with maximised opportunities for engagement and success. Berridale Public School comprises three classes and is committed to achieving quality learning outcomes for all students with a range of specialist teaching and learning programs.

The school places a strong emphasis on developing foundational literacy and numeracy skills, values and citizenship. Whole-school welfare programs are aligned with the Department’s priorities and frameworks and the school offers a variety of opportunities for students to connect, succeed and thrive.

School programs support the learning goals of all students and individual needs are catered for with continued monitoring of student performance that informs the next steps in the teaching and learning cycle. Staff are dedicated to rigorous professional learning and the delivery of evidenced-based teaching practices. The school has close partnerships with the community and actively seeks opportunities to engage students with sustainable teaching and learning initiatives. The school is supported by parents and community members, including an active P&C.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.

Demonstrated capacity to balance the complex teaching, administrative and leadership roles of a teaching principal.

Proven ability to provide high level instructional leadership and quality teaching and learning programs to drive the growth and achievement of every student in a multi - stage setting with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy.

Highly visible, approachable and engaging leader with strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build effective partnerships with students, staff, parents, and the community.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
