**Position Information**:
Tallong Public School is a small rural school, situated within the Goulburn network of schools. The school has a rich history and is situated 8.5km from the town of Marulan. We have a current enrolment of 52 students, with 9% identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Our school prides itself on our motto 'Desire To Do Well' and students exhibit our core values of being respectful, responsible and safe.
The special interests and needs of students are met through performing and creative arts programs, a wide range of sporting opportunities, a differentiated curriculum and strong learning and support processes.
Tallong Public School has a collaborative, consultative and productive relationship with our community whereby all stakeholders are valued as key contributors to our school plans and priorities. The school has a strong partnership with the Parents & Citizens Association who contribute significant time and funds towards the school's activities and resources and are very supportive of the school and its programs.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.
- Highly effective instructional leadership skills, including being a highly visible, approachable and passionate leader who drives a culture of high expectations, through a model of distributive leadership and collaborative practice, resulting in improved student outcomes.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to deliver and inspire teams to build authentic relationships in engaging students, staff, parents, and the wider community as they strive to meet the needs of all students.
- Demonstrated ability to lead differentiated professional learning in order to ensure quality teaching, learning and leading, ensuring a strong foundation to achieve student success.
- Demonstrated ability to balance the complex teaching, administrative and leadership roles of a teaching principal within small school setting.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
