**About the role**

We are seeking a Project Officer to join our $22 million Business Decarbonisation Program.

The program provides NSW businesses with one-of-a-kind support to strategically plan for net zero, meter and monitor their energy use and take other practical steps in their shift to net zero.

In this role, you will work with a small team to design and deliver the strategic planning for net zero stream of the program. To-date the team delivered two Net Zero Pathways pilots, where we worked with over 50 organisations, who designed their net zero pathways in the process. Now, we are working to extend the insights gained from the pilots to the businesses throughout the state.

By joining us, you will shape and deliver net zero guidance, design and launch new offers, and look for new opportunities to extend the reach and impact of the program. In this role, you will use your net zero expertise to inform the development of net zero guidance and design new initiatives. You will also use your project management skills to design and manage grant offers. Importantly, you will liaise and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders within and outside the Department to achieve the best outcomes to our program participants.

**About You**

Our team is dynamic, collaborative, and highly passionate about supporting NSW businesses in their transition to net zero. We are looking for an equally passionate individual, who is a self-starter and enjoys collaboration within and outside the team, to join us.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in net zero consulting, reporting and/or accounting, Environmental Social and Governance (ESG).
- Degree in environmental engineering, science, sustainability management or similar
- Project management skills demonstrating the ability to deliver agreed outcomes on time, on budget, and to quality standards, and demonstrated time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate complex topics to stakeholders with differing levels of technical understanding
- Understanding of net zero drivers across different industry sectors and how to use these to drive change
- Knowledge of international net zero standards and frameworks
- Experience of developing net zero plans and sustainability reports
- Experience of managing grant programs

The Business Decarbonisation Program is part of the Program and Market Development Branch within the Energy Division. With years of experience in delivering sustainability programs, the team leads the delivery of the $12 million metering and monitoring package, technical services pilots, net zero guidance and other initiatives.
