About the Role
**As the Principal Policy Officer, you will**:
- Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of student engagement initiatives
- Work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders to support and monitor the implementation of strategic actions to lift engagement of children and young people in education, training and employment
- Lead and coordinate reporting requirements, including preparing policy papers, briefings, reports and submissions for Senior Officers and the Minister
- Represent the department, as required, on departmental and external committees and working groups
- Provide policy expertise and project support in a high-performing team delivering multiple initiatives to support whole-of-government priorities.
About You
**The ideal applicant will possess**:
- Strong written and interpersonal communication, with experience leading the development of policy papers, briefings, reports and submissions in an environment of tight deadlines and competing priorities.
- Flexibility to work across projects and support the work of multiple Directors.
