Principal Engagement Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Department of Environment, Science and Innovation (DESI) Community Engagement team as Principal Engagement Officer (AO7).
Working within the Communications and Public Engagement branch, this role works collaboratively across the department to identify and implement strategic community engagement initiatives for a broad range of departmental priorities and key objectives.
Our work is diverse; one day you'll be leading the delivery of engagement strategies about protecting our marine parks, the next you'll be engaging communities on policies and initiatives to strengthen laws protecting our environment, and the next day engage communities delivering education on how to protect our native and threatened species like koalas. No one day is the same
You will help lead a team of six dedicated engagement professionals to deliver best practice engagement strategies to ensure Queensland communities are engaged, aware and participate in departmental priorities and key initiatives.
