Principal Policy Officer

The Emissions, Strategic Coordination and Governance and Climate Science, Analytics and Adaption Branches of the Division work collaboratively to deliver climate action policies and programs. This includes ensuring that Queensland's communities and industry are proactive in preparing for the risks of climate change by engaging strategically to determine emissions reductions pathways and adapt to a changing climate. The roles require the ability to provide policy leadership within a team that can rapidly respond to complex issues and challenges in climate policy, particularly in relation to decarbonisation, governance and grants.

**As a Principal Policy Officer, you will**:

- Lead programs of work and support team members, in a highly dynamic and complex working environment, to help deliver the department's climate policy responsibilities.
- Deliver specific projects and analysis as required, ranging from strategic policy through to supporting governance arrangements, reporting, and program design and delivery.
- Provide strategic advice to senior management, community, industry stakeholders and other agencies' officers about the Government's climate policy, governance, priorities and programs.
- Build productive relationships, and coordinate high level consultations and briefings, with a broad range of key stakeholders in industry, government, community and research institutions to support delivery of policy and programs that address the causes of climate change.
