D4C is seeking a to join our dynamic, diverse and high performing team in an exciting time of growth. We need your skills and expertise to help Sydney Water deliver a $34 billion dollar program over the next 10 years to build, maintain and protect the future of our iconic water resources.

**Primary Purpose**

We are looking for a qualified Estimating Lead to join our D4C team based in our Redfern office. Reporting to the Business Performance & Commercial Lead.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Ensure estimates are prepared on time and to applicable standards and procedures.
- Manage a team of estimators and directly prepare cost estimates as required.
- Schedule project estimation programs to maximise efficient use of resources within the team and the on schedule delivery of recommendations and reports on budget
- Ensure estimates are approved in line with D4C delegations of authority
- Liase with the Client to demonstrate value for money in the estimates prepared.
- Develop and implement project cost estimation standards, procedures and tools aligned to D4C objectives.
- Ensure that estimate and cost planning processes and procedures reflect compliance with legislation, statutes and codes of practices
- Keep track of performance against relevant publicly declared indices like RPI and wage inflation and update in In Eight with the consultation of Finance and Contracts
- Ensuring benchmarking for cost comparison is carried out, including the use of first principles, past projects and other various sources.
- Ensure the preparation of RFT target pricing schedules / Pay items and project costing, is accurate and delivered in a timely manner, without compromising quality or safety
- Ensure the accurate assessment and calculation of contingency costs associated with risks and opportunities are incorporated, including design development, procurement and price escalation
- Identify, develop, evaluate, and review procedures and task instructions for all estimating systems and project scoping processes

**Essential**
- Bachelors in Engineering(Mechanical, Civil or related)
- 10 to 15 years experience in similar role.
- Demonstrated understanding of Estimation Function
- Project Management and Project Engineering experience.
- Exposure to Water and Waste water infrastructure projects
- Estimation software
- MS Office
- Current Drivers Licence
