Job Overview

Civil construction companies require skilled professionals to lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions. This role is responsible for overseeing the estimation process, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing for civil infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for civil infrastructure, earthworks, and subdivision projects.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documentation to identify key project requirements.
  • Conduct take-offs, measure quantities, and source subcontractor/supplier pricing to optimize project costs.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure accurate and competitive pricing throughout the estimating process.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options during the estimating process to enhance project profitability.
  • Support business development by contributing to bid strategies and client presentations to secure new projects.
  • Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement within the estimating team to drive excellence in estimation services.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in estimating civil construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of earthworks, roadworks, drainage, and subdivision works.
  • Proficient in estimating software and MS Office (expert in Excel).
  • Excellent analytical, commercial, and negotiation skills to drive project success.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines to meet project milestones.
  • A team player with strong communication skills and leadership potential to motivate and guide team members.
