**Your New Role**

Your role as an **Associate - Quantity Surveyor**, will primarily focus on consulting assignments to provide client projects contract management, cost estimating and project controls expertise. You will need to have mature stakeholder management skills and be a proficient consultant; able to identify issues and problems and deploy solutions efficiently.

The role will include the development, implementation and maintenance of systems and tools to manage cost in relation to time and scope on construction projects within contractual frameworks. A capacity to develop scope with options analysis will also be of benefit to downstream structuring of estimate frameworks. The role will be responsible for the development and update of project cost estimations, budgets and cost tracking systems and reports across all stages of projects.

The Associate - Quantity Surveyor provide input into tender preparation where scope definition and work breakdown structures given the interrelationship with project estimates and will therefore develop work breakdown and cost break down structures and reporting arrangements which allow for continued project progress assessment (earned value and life Cycle Costing) and reporting. Auditing of estimation processes and the review of estimates will be an important aspect of the role.

The day-to-day software that you will be familiar with will be standard ERP packages (Jobpac, Pronto, SAP, etc.), MS Excel, MS Project, and MS Power BI with competency in other specialised cost/project controls packages regarded highly. You will understand the importance of reporting in a clear, concise manner, and be able to communicate project financial positions quickly and efficiently. Your attention to accuracy and focus on details will need to be flawless.

**Responsibilities Include**
- Contract management and administration
- Cost estimation
- Life Cycle Costing
- Auditing of cost estimation processes
- Project budget development, implementation, and management
- Project tender Scope development assistance.
- Options Analysis
- Incorporating Risk Management principles into scope development and cost estimation
- Ongoing budget and forecast updates and management
- Cost reporting
- Project planning and schedule development
- Assist Project Manager(s) to coordinate and deliver projects in accordance with budgets, scope & time Extension of Time and Delay impact cost estimations
- Productivity target setting and monitoring
- Contracting and procurement activities, including tender assessments and progress claim and Variation evaluations.

**What you will need to succeed**
- Full Australian working rights
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying)
- A strong track record in successfully operating cost control & project controls on construction projects - Minimum 3 years relevant experience in Australia
- High level of competency in cost management software
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite - expert level in MS Excel
- Capability in Oracle Primavera P6 will be highly regarded
- Diverse range of project experience highly regarded
- Excellent communication and presentation skills - written and verbal
- Able to prioritise and work to tight, often competing deadlines
- Strong analytic and creative problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to engage at all levels of a project delivery team
- Ability to prioritise and work to tight, often competing deadlines
- Membership with appropriate professional industry bodies highly regarded
