Junior Quantity Surveyor

**Purpose**:
Due to continuing growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a full time Quantity Surveyor, based in our Brisbane office. Your overall responsibility will be to work closely with our national team of Loss Adjusters and external stakeholders to provide expert cost control advice and other technical input as required. This role would suit a recent graduate Quantity Surveyor. Whilst having worked in the industry would be advantageous, it is not required.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Responsibilities include:
- Site measurements and recording
- Preparation of cost plans and alternative methods analysis
- Review and preparation of reinstatement costs for the purpose of establishing VARs
- Preparation of tender analysis and recommendations
- Attendance on site and at meetings with clients and consultants as required
- Preparation of detailed reports and maintenance of project files
- Measurement of Bills of quantities and schedule of rates
- Assistance with auditing of builders' claims for repairs
- Support development of a Quality Assurance system/process for McLarens Australia
- Contribute to a learning and development culture, building capability through formal and informal coaching and mentoring as appropriate

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying is required
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
- Proven ability to learn new technology and software requirements
- Previous experience in the insurance industry would be advantageous but is not required
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
