Manager, Account Management, Digital Partners and Enablers
Role Overview
Responsibilities & Skills
Partnering with key customers and understanding their priorities deeply, the Account Manager will establish core business needs and match these to Mastercard capabilities to support growth and partnership opportunities. They will be responsible for delivering performance targets through key portfolio management strategies to deliver mutual benefits to the partner and Mastercard.
- Ranges from issuing portfolio management through to digital merchant partnership management
- Contributes to the achievement of sales and net revenue targets, and the delivery of key strategic outcomes
- Tracks, reports and co-ordinates a portfolio of digital partners and their interface to Mastercard stakeholders (primary account management role).
- Manages partner relationships that are emerging opportunities or are in growth and development phase, both existing customers and those new to Mastercard
- In collaboration with the Digital Partnerships account team, works with the partners to establish, execute and report progress against annual business plans and targets, including performance against commercial agreement obligations
- Develops and implements account plans including business development, marketing and product management initiatives at both customer level & with regional or global stakeholders
- Identifies & recommends approaches to enhance Mastercard partnership performance with customers, optimising issuing or acceptance/authorisation behaviours and identifying opportunities to participate in strategic marketing or commercial engagements
- Coordinates quarterly business reviews and/or monthly strategic update meetings between Digital Partners and Mastercard stakeholders
- With support, negotiates and executes agreements with partners, coordinates deal reviews with internal stakeholders
- Ensures administrative tasks are up to date, including MS Teams, OneNote and Salesforce documentation
- Ensures the smooth implementation of day to day projects, pricing/billing inquiries, and product construct inquiries with the support of relevant Mastercard teams. First point of contact for day to day support requests from account-managed partners.
- Assists in local projects and cross-functional initiatives as required.
Experience & Skills
- Account management or business development experience in one or more of the following verticals: digital commerce, online retail (with payments background), payment service provider (PSP), issuing or fintech. Issuing or acquiring experience highly regarded.
- Expertise in the payment ecosystem, including the role and prevalence of key global enablement technology partners. An understanding of the main drivers affecting the industry and the ability to articulate these in detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including both oral and written, and superior presentation skills.
- A strong customer orientation, with the ability to develop valuable relationships, both internally and externally.
- Ability to balance genuine support for Partners' objectives with delivering measurable results for Mastercard
- An engaged team player who can influence others within a matrixed environment
- Experience with negotiating and engaging with senior stakeholders on a commercial and technical level.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a flexible manner and contribute to the evolution of Mastercard’s digital payment products.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
