**About the Role**
Working within a team, this position supports the smooth operational delivery of the University’s Academic Advising and Melbourne Peer Mentor Programs within a Faculty. This involves delivering of a series of evolving large-scale cyclic activities that focus on connecting commencing undergraduate students with a cohort of peers and a later year peer mentor, followed by a series of meetings with a dedicated academic staff member.
As a university-wide undergraduate student focused initiative, this role works closely with Academic Staff, Student and Scholarly Services, and with peers delivering comparable activities across all in-scope Faculties. This work context allows these programs to be delivered in a way that achieves an overall consistency and quality, balanced against the local context and requirements expected in a large, comprehensive university with diverse faculty operating environments.
Responsibilities include:
- Working closely with other staff to deliver the advising and mentoring program in line with agreed annual operating cycle and detailed project plans
- Supporting Student and Scholarly Services (SASS) to deliver the program-wide selection, training and development of Peer Mentors
- Contributing to evaluation by providing local data, insights and reports to improve program outcomes
**About You**
You are strongly committed to improving student, client, and customer experiences with a particular focus on themes of connection, belonging and/or wellbeing. You have a high level of judgement and problem solving skills, enabling you to address new issues as they arise in a considered and thought out manner. You should have experience in the delivery of cyclical administrative support, ideally for programs within a university of customer service setting. Experience in a tertiary education setting and exposure to project management methodologies will be highly regarded.
You will also have:
- A minimum of a Bachelor level degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist or broad knowledge in administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate to diverse student, staff and/or stakeholder groups.
- Strong proficiency and attention to detail in administering large multi-cohort programs using enterprise systems (for example, Salesforce and Microsoft Excel) to monitor engagement, manage enquiries, manage relationships, identifying trends and issues, reporting, and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively as part of a team to support a range of stakeholders, ideally in a student and/or academic services context.
