**About Student and Scholarly Services**
Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.

**About the Role**
As an Academic Skills Adviser, your role will focus on designing and delivering Academic Skills programs, resources and services for new and international students to support their transition and connection to the University. You will support student learning with the aim of enhancing students’ language, academic and professional skills.

You will plan, develop, deliver and evaluate curriculum-embedded workshops, online learning resources, co-curricular learning programs, and individual tuition. Your position will take a collaborative approach to program design, delivery and academic liaison.

**There are multiple vacancies available for this position.**

Responsibilities include:

- Contribute to the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of the Academic Skills team’s curricular and co-curricular programs, resources, and services
- Use pedagogies, learning designs and educational technologies to enable student-centred learning
- Identify and develop initiatives to ensure a student centred and coordinated approach to services

**About You**
You will bring solid knowledge of current and emerging trends in higher education learning and teaching to enable academic skills development in students. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.

You will be highly organised and detail-oriented, with a commitment to continuous improvement. You bring an openness to new ideas and a creative approach to problem solving.

You also have the ability to work as part of a team and provide support and guidance to manage critical and competing priorities in a highly dynamic and flexible environment.

You will also have:

- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g., applied linguistics and/or TESOL) and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
- Demonstrated experience teaching academic and/or language and communication skills to diverse student cohorts in a university environment, including English as an Additional Language (EAL) students
- Demonstrated experience coordinating the design and delivery of curricular and co-curricular programs and services to support students’ academic skills development at a tertiary level
- Demonstrated experience using educational technologies and online learning platforms (e.g., Learning Management Systems) to plan, design, produce, and evaluate online learning resources
- To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check._
