The position will offer the successful person the opportunity to work at the Australian Defence College, which has a pivotal role in contributing to building the Australian Defence Force future force.

The Australian Defence College combines the Australian Defence Force Academy, the Australian Defence Force Training Centre, the Australian War College and supporting Centres of Excellence.

Through these institutions and its other activities, the Australian Defence College promotes learning and growth of leaders and managers who have professional interest in national and international defence and security issues, be they military or civilian, from Australia or overseas.

The Australian Defence College also manages the Defence Registered Training Organisation, with the Commander of the Australian Defence College being the appointed Chief Executive Officer. The Defence Registered Training Organisation is responsible for providing nationally accredited training for the Defence workforce.
