**The Role**
The APS 6 Non-Ongoing Veterans Advanced Standing Project Officer is responsible for the coordination and implantation of a Project to support Advanced Standing or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) towards further Education pathways, to support transitioning ADF Veterans post transition. This project involves working effectively with contractors, universities, TAFEs and other stakeholders, in the development of this new project, as well as preparing status reports on project milestones and developing briefs and other forms of communication to support the implementation of this work.
This position works as part of a larger ADF Transition and Civil Recognition team, within the National Skills Framework team at the Australian Defence College. This role ensures all required reporting is undertaken within ministerial and budget requirements and engages with clients and stakeholders as required. This role requires high level skills in supporting projects, data quality and records management, and stakeholder engagement. It also requires an understanding of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), and the tertiary education sector.
**About our Team**
The ADF Transition and Civil Recognition team is small team that undertakes RPL assessments for qualifications and micro-credentials for ADF members on transition from Defence into civilian employment. The APS 6 Veterans Advance Standing Project Officer will work as part of the broader ADFTCR team in providing support to Veterans.
It is desirable that applicants have demonstrated experience with managing employees and have a background in education and training, records management and strong communication skills. This ideal person will also be experienced working with PMKeyS (Defence HR system), Objective (Defence Records Management system) or similar. Previous experience working within the Learning and Development delivery function, this APS 6 role is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex to complex learning and development work within an integrated workforce.
They are accountable to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative, policy and procedural frameworks and government decision-making. This APS 6 role will be accountable for organising their tasks and making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility. They will coordinate administrative and business support activities for the broader team, identify risks and determine appropriate actions to meet stakeholder needs. They will engage and negotiate with stakeholders on complex issues to achieve business outcomes and work collaboratively, build and sustain effective relationships and provide constructive feedback.
