An exciting opportunity exists for a Finance Officer who plays a pivotal role within the SCHHS Finance Team to support the Principal Finance Accountant.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

This position will support the Principal Finance Accountant with the preparation of financial statement reconciliations including processes in relation to accounting transactions, reconciliations and workpapers in relation to the fixed assets, bank accounts, prepayments, inventory registers, and other non-current asset related balances. delivery of statutory and other financial reporting requirements that comply with relevant legislation and Accounting Standards.
**Key Responsibilities include**:
Undertake monthly financial accounting processes, prepare reconciliations and workpapers in relation to the bank accounts, prepayments, inventory registers, other asset related balances, accounts payable, GR/IR, and other liability related balances, ensuring compliance with the Australian Accounting Standards and financial reporting requirements for Queensland Government agencies.
Prepare and process journals, including monthly accruals, prepayments and other journals as required to ensure the accurate recording of financial transactions and to assist with maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.
Investigate and clear reconciling items and other accounting exceptions on a timely basis.
