**The Opportunity**

The primary responsibility of the Payroll Officer is to provide comprehensive payroll services to the organisation primarily using Micropay. This position is an integral part of the Payroll function, providing quality customer service to our employees and relevant stakeholders.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Process the collection, calculation and entering of payroll data in Micropay
- Enter employment information such as new starters, promotions, transfers and exits using approved Payroll Advice Form’s (PAFs)
- Ensure end-to-end payroll for weekly and fortnightly payroll cycles (Multiple companies) including producing payslips and EFT file, ensuring that overtime, adjustments, penalties and sick leave are correctly entered
- Ensure that wages are allocated to correct cost centres and validate general ledger account numbers
- Process Superannuation and provide relevant remittance information to Accounts Payable to facilitate electronic remittance in a timely manner
- Ensure the operational aspects of payroll processing and associated activities, including salary disbursement, overpayment recovery only when approved, leave management and reporting are accurate, delivered within appropriate timeframes and comply with relevant legislation and company policy

**What sets you apart from the rest?**
- 5 years of work experience using Micropay.
- Experience dealing with Payroll Tax and Workers compensation in different states
- Sound numeracy skills, attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven ability to quickly learn new information, processes and procedures
- Organised and structured but capable of reacting quickly if necessary
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and identify and deal with problem
- High level verbal and written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Business and financial acumen
