**Position Objective**

To undertake developing, enhancing and overseeing quality management system functions in the context
of the National Disability Insurance Scheme’s (NDIS) Quality and Safety Framework.

This senior Quality and Compliance role will also contribute to the continuous development of culture and
positive work practices in our rapidly growing organisation.

The Manager Quality and Compliance is required to provide a level of specialist skill and knowledge to ensure

Nexus achieves positive results in line with the organisation’s strategic goals.

We are an NDIS registered, not for profit organisation based in Southern Tasmania. We employ over 450
staff who provide support and development opportunities to people requiring physical, social, and
psychological supports. We provide support in clients’ own homes, in the community, and in supported
living accommodation.

Overriding Obligation

**Primary Tasks**

Compliance, Governance and Reporting
- Monitor systems and processes to meet Nexus’ risk and compliance obligations.
- Provide consultancy advice and oversight of reporting to the NDIS Quality & Safeguards

Commission.
- Be accountable for compiling accurate Commission submissions, meeting prescriptive

timelines, identifying investigation outcomes and creating preventative strategies.
- Build accountability structures to manage compliance with external standards and legislation,

including prepare for, and successfully complete, internal and external quality evaluations and
other assessments required by accreditation bodies including certification audits.
- Maintain currency of knowledge regarding legislative and regulatory changes in the healthcare

and disability sectors.
- Develop and implement robust, cyclical internal audit programs.
- Provide reports for the Nexus Executive and other internal stakeholders regarding trends in

quality, risk and compliance.
- Ensure that Nexus Policies are relevant and contemporary.

Quality Management System
- Support the continuous development of the Quality Management System to meet the

requirements of the NDIS Quality and Safety Framework.
- Advise Nexus Executive on the impact of changes in the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding

framework.
- Implement an effective and efficient Quality Management System.
- Oversee and contribute to the development, review and publication of policies and procedures.

This includes procedures for document review, document control, formatting and readability.
- Provide strong leadership and influence in respect to quality standards.
- Lead and manage relevant projects to improve quality standards and business effectiveness.
- Develop tools, systems and processes to enable the review of current organisational practices.
- Foster a culture that embraces the review of work practices, and respectfully challenges current
- organisational behaviour and practices.- Adopt an innovative and proactive approach to problem solving.

Advice and Support
- Provide expert advice in relation to the Quality Management System, including recommending

improvements to existing policies, procedures and processes.
- Support the effective implementation of the Quality Management System.
- Lead the external audit process (full audit every 3 years and check audits between full audits).
