Provide a timely and quality fisheries monitoring and compliance service for the purpose of administering the Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 and the Fishing (Licence Ownership and Interest) Registration Act 2001.

About the role

A Fisheries Monitoring and Compliance Officer plays a vital role ensuring the sustainable management of marine resources by supporting the enforcement of fisheries laws and regulations.

- Provide advice and support to fishers, industry representatives, and the public on licensing, regulations, and compliance requirements.

- Manage fisheries data systems, enter and verify data, and generate reports to support decision-making and enforcement.

- Work with internal teams, scientists, Tasmania Police, and other government bodies to share intelligence and coordinate compliance efforts.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).
