Are you passionate about making a difference in students' lives? Swinburne University of Technology is looking for a dedicated Equity Transition Officer to empower students from under-represented communities as they transition into university life.

As an Equity Transition Officer, you will provide personalised, intensive support to students from diverse backgrounds, including those from low socioeconomic areas, regional and remote locations, individuals living with disabilities, care leavers, refugees, and asylum seekers.

In this role, you will offer tailored guidance and resources to help students navigate their transition to Swinburne. You will collaborate with internal teams, external agencies, and community organisations to create a supportive, wrap-around service model. You will also evaluate the effectiveness of support strategies using data and insights to ensure the best possible outcomes. By improving engagement, retention, and student success, you will contribute to fostering positive educational pathways for all students.

**About You**
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

- Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting school attainment and participation in higher education for under-represented groups having worked in a university, school, TAFE or other education setting or not-for-profit sector.
- Proven ability to build and manage relationships with diverse groups of people, especially demonstrated cultural sensitivity and advanced cross-cultural communication skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills with a record of successfully supporting projects through to completion in accordance with agreed standards, timeframes and budgets.
- Excellent interpersonal and advanced communication skills, both written and oral, and an ability to conduct seminars and workshops to students and staff.
- Demonstrated high level analytical and problem-solving skills and an ability to respond effectively to unexpected situations.
- Experience in working independently and under pressure in a changing environment and working as an integral member of a team.
- Demonstrated skill in computerised data management, accurate data entry and record keeping.

**Qualifications**
A relevant degree with subsequent relevant experience and/ or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training/ or extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in administrative fields.
