**About the Business Unit**:

- The Judy Lazarus Transition Centre (JLTC) is a secure residential facility that aims to reduce re offending. The Centre provides eligible, motivated prisoners with access to resources and support to help them reintegrate back into the community.

**About the Role**:

- The role of the Transition Officer is to provide intensive case management to allocated residents while contributing to the daily operations of the Centre.
- Some of your duties will include:

- Effectively case-managing allocated residents
- Engendering a positive culture and environment that supports behaviour change
- Demonstrating motivational interviewing principles and skills

**About You**:

- Demonstrated experience in managing complex cases, including proven assessment, intervention and communication skills
- The ability to accept changed priorities without undue discomfort. Responds quickly to changes. Comfortable working in collaboration with teams outside of own organisation
- The ability to resolves issues through deep understanding or interpretation of existing guidelines and the initiative to act where and when guidelines are not available
- Qualifications/Requirements:_
- A full and current Victorian driver's licence or a minimum P2 driver's licence.
- Qualifications in the social sciences or community service and at least 2 years' experience in case management is desirable. Successful applicants who have not already done so will be required to complete some modules of the prison officer pre-service training prior to commencement in the role
