Rare NSW Government opportunity for an experienced HSEQ professional. Sydney Based, long term with parking

Management expertise is required for busy government organisation’s capital improvement & construction projects. Based in Sydney you will report to the Director to act as the client’s representative for all matters pertaining to HSE&Q. Your key responsibilities will be to develop and deliver proactive WHSEQ initiatives and programs, respond to and resolve WHSE incidents, quality and investigate complaints. You will provide high level advice, guidance and expertise, training and practical assistance to the organisation, staff and clients. The role is also responsible for the implementation and compliance of quality systems and processes working with the management team.

Your duties will include:

- Develop and implement WHSE&Q Strategy and injury management programs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Create programs and frameworks (ergonomics, lockout, inspections and scheduled audits) to foster and promote a positive, physically and psychologically safe workplace culture.
- Provide informed advice to the Director, staff and clients on safety and quality management matters for infrastructure and construction planning and delivery.
- Identify, assess, monitor and control of health, safety, and quality risks at pre-construction and construction stages of projects and in manufacturing operations.
- Review implementation of Management Systems including WHSE&Q management system, third-party certification and construction contractors’ implementation of their WHSE&Q Management Plans.
- Identify and implement WHSE and Best Practice initiatives, including safe design and contract administration.
- Analyse training needs and manage the delivery of WHSEQ programs through the engagement of key providers.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose new approaches to contribute to improved business performance.
- Identify the learning and development needs of self and team members and facilitate appropriate action to contribute to on-going professional excellence.

To succeed in this role, you will have thorough understanding of best practice WHSEQ management approaches with a safety and wellbeing focus. You will have demonstrated experience developing, implementing and evaluating organisational improvement initiatives associated with WHSEQ, employee engagement, and inclusion.

You will hold appropriate tertiary qualifications in related fields for WHS, Safety & Environmental and relevant working experience, ideally in the Construction Industry. You will have excellent computer literacy skills, together with experience using MS- Office based software packages as well as the capacity to develop knowledge in online training delivery and management systems. You will also need an OHS Construction Induction White Card, a Working with Children Check and a valid NSW Driving license.
