**The Role**

**Location**: Rockingham

On the Job Training (OJT) Officer involves trainee’s demonstration of specific tasks, under workplace conditions to workplace standards (i.e. Competence). The OJT program requires that evidence of demonstrated competency is collected and recorded using the TTSS program’s OJT software. KBR OJT Support Officers are responsible for facilitating this process by providing effective:

- Trainee support
- Coordination of OJT work placements
- Liaison with industry partners

**Coordination of OJT work placements**

Effective OJT requires the deployment of trainees to work placements aligning:

- Tasks offered by work placements
- Tasks required to complete individual trainee’s OJT program
- The timing of work placement opportunities
- The timing of trainee’s availability for work placements.

OJT Support Officers are required to coordinate OJT placements while keeping informed of timing, current and emerging work placement opportunities (and their associated tasks) and individual trainee’s progress through OJT programs and their outstanding requirements.

**Liaison with industry partners**

OJT Support Officers are required to liaise with industry partners to maintain current and create new work placement opportunities. They also work with workplace supervisors to coordinate activity, ensure required OJT tasks are included in work placements and assist with the collection of OJT assessment evidence.

**Responsibilities**
- Regular and ad hoc meetings with trainees with the OJT programs
- Coaching and guidance to trainees through OJT activity and requirements
- Gathering and development of assessment evidence
- Facilitate the capture and reporting of OJT assessment evidence
- Liaison with industry partners and work placement supervisors
- Liaison with Navy Trade Management unit to coordinate OJT placements
- Reporting on OJT activity
