The role of Change Manager is a hands-on strategic role that works with a wide range of stakeholders across UNSW to support and drive the objectives of the UNSW investment portfolio projects. This role focuses on delivering change management intentions on a project to introduce a new campus safety solution to the university and works closely with Project Manager and the Project Sponsor. The Change Manager is responsible for the delivery of a consistent change approach for the project and will work with key stakeholders to develop change plans, communications, and training activities to complement the culture and engagement needs of all impacted entities.

The Change Manager is also responsible for the effective implementation and embedding of the change plan and its objectives, including training, where required. This role is required to develop a deep understanding of the impacted audiences and to build strong working relationships with UNSW stakeholders and the project team.

This role reports into the Director Engagement and Change and has no direct reports.

**Responsibilities**
- Planning and Delivery:

- Undertake detailed impact assessment and use the insights to tailor the delivery of change plans to the engagement idiosyncrasies and existing constraints of impacted audience
- Take into consideration the UNSW change landscape and existing activities, as well as the academics calendar
- Support the UNSW Leadership Team (e.g., Faculty Executive Director, Dean, Heads’ of School, business unit Directors) to effectively deliver leader-led change communication
- Work with Student Services and UNSW communications team to ensure change communications are aligned with UNSW communications channels and brand standard
- Develop high quality change management deliverables
- Conduct readiness assessments and evaluate results to inform change approach and plans
- Identify and log potential people-side impacts, risks and issues and anticipated points of resistance, and develop appropriate mitigation plans
- Risks are managed according to agreed risk frameworks, including addressing any change related risk (people, operations, organisational), including impacts associated with the change, development of mitigation plans with associated costs and benefits
- Facilitate informed discussions about the change related risks to more senior change and project practitioners and stakeholders
- Build change maturity, capacity and skills in the impacted areas. Provide change coaching/mentoring support for Senior Leaders within the business units to build change capability
- Establish and maintain positive, productive relationships with key stakeholders for the project by monitoring their level of current and required engagement
- Undertake change training needs analysis, develop learning objectives, curriculum and develop/implement change training plans for impacted stakeholders
- Support the development and maintenance of a project stakeholder matrix and engagement plan(s)
- Work with the Faculty/Division Business Partners to identify most effective channels and key messages within Faculties/Divisions. Assist to coordinate and establish formal / informal change networks across the University
- Work closely with the UNSW IT Change Function and the University Portfolio Office OCM Community of Practice to ensure consistency, correct tools and templates are used
- Work with the UNSW Risk unit to ensure project risks are captured and reported
- Align with and actively demonstrate the UNSW Values in Action: Our Behaviours and the UNSW Code of Conduct
- Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself or others

**Skills and Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and / or solid experience in delivering effective change management in large scale project include changes to people, structures, technology, process, finance, and operations
- Effective self-leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, and importantly, the ability to influence stakeholders
- Knowledge and experience of working with a project management framework, including linking this with change management deliverables
- Capacity to plan to achieve priority outcomes and respond flexibly to changing and at times ambiguous environments; ability to work systematically to resolve problems, identify causes, anticipate implications, and make informed decisions
