Data Linkage Liaison Officer

The role
Reporting to the Data Linkage Team Leader, you will assist with the day to day coordination of routine processing and linkage of data sets and play an important role in enabling our team to continue to meet Queensland Health's increasing information needs through data linkage. You will identify and query missing, incomplete or inconsistent data using analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, Oracle SQL or SAS to help ensure data quality. In addition, you will assist in performing clerical review and processing of linked data to ensure timely production of accurate databases to meet the needs of the Department of Health.

The successful person

**You will have demonstrated**:

- Attention to detail, including the ability to identify and query data problems using suitable tools and methods.
- Basic data analysis skills including experience with analysis tools and ability to assist with the detailed analysis of data sets.
- Competence in interpersonal skills and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and to effectively monitor and co-ordinate linkage activities to achieve outcomes and to meet deadlines.
- Personal qualities of reliability in meeting deadlines and commitments; integrity with respect to confidentially of departmental and clients' interests; and ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices.

Statistical Analysis and Linkage (SALU) is one of four units in Statistical Services Branch and provides a range of services including statistical analysis, project linkage and routine linkage of several major health-related data collections to support health services planning, research into diseases, monitoring standards of care, and national reporting requirements.

The Healthcare Purchasing and System Performance (HPSP) Division purchases public health and social services from service providers to optimise health gains, reduce inequalities, and maximise the health system's efficiency and effectiveness. HPSP ensures health funding is used effectively to meet government priorities and achieve performance objectives outlined in agreements and contracts arising from purchasing decisions.
