**About the Role**:
- Provide an effective interface between the assigned projects with the community and key stakeholders. This includes interfacing with local communities, government bodies, construction teams, subcontractors and in-house teams to facilitate the smooth delivery of project milestones
- Develop, implement and evaluate stakeholder engagement strategies, tactics, tools and activities that support and deliver project objectives
- Obtain input, and monitor and report on stakeholder needs, interests, and issues, and provide recommendations to manage identified issues and risks, and to ensure community and stakeholder engagement activities are relevant, appropriate, engaging and informative
- Provide strategic advice on the effective management of emerging stakeholder issues and concerns and working on behalf of stakeholders to resolve significant problems
- Provide regular reports to offer insight into key stakeholder relationships and issues. Use data and insights to make recommendations on projects and programs that will deliver outcomes that will benefit the community, other stakeholders, and/or the project
- Improve project efficiencies by establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote open communications and facilitate the delivery of best practice stakeholder engagement initiatives.
- Provide a range of engagement support and advisory services.
- Arrange respite from the impacts of project activities for affected stakeholders
- Develop close working relationships and the exchange of accurate information with key project team members. According to the nature of the project this may include the project sponsor, project manager, senior engineers, site superintendent, senior site personnel, environmental manager, sustainability manager
- Ensure community and stakeholder engagement activities are introduced and managed in a consistent, efficient and practical way across multiple projects
- Provide community and stakeholder engagement support to assigned project teams as required
- Participate in systems, policy and process improvement initiatives to improve team operation
- Document initiatives and community and stakeholder engagement activities in the client’s records management system
- Plan and administer sustainability programs relating to the community across relevant projects. Facilitate project outcomes that will leave a positive legacy
- Assist other team members in their professional development
**About You**:
- You’ll be a strong Community Relations specialist with demonstrated experience in developing and implementing community and stakeholder engagement program strategies for diverse community stakeholders in ‘on the ground’ community engagements. Experience in major infrastructure projects is highly advantageous.
- Naturally confident and with highly developed interpersonal skills, you'll be adept at developing effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders and stakeholder groups, often in challenging, time pressured situations.
- Utilising your intuition and nous, you'll be media savvy with a natural ability to identify positive opportunities and potential reputational issues, and to provide subsequent mitigation strategies.
- You'll possess exceptional verbal & written communication, and public presentation aiding your ability to develop credibility and trust with stakeholders. You’ll also have experience in using a variety of communication channels to communicate information in a meaningful and engaging manner.
