**The Opportunity**

We are pleased to offer an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Community & Stakeholder Engagement Consultant to join our Queensland team and work with a major utility provider delivering key infrastructure projects across South East Queensland.
- The role is very hands on, working across water and wastewater projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

You will ideally have construction communication experience and designed and delivered stakeholder and community engagement plans to help streamline construction activity and minimise disruption.

Working as a part of a wider team, you will be integral in the delivery of timely notification, inquiries and complaint management, developing and distributing notifications and record keeping.

Working in a team you will engage with;
- Contractors, project managers and community members to communicate project timeframes and impacts while managing stakeholder expectations and inquiries
- Local residents and business owners to provide open communication and maintain positive satisfaction and;
- Project teams to provide guidance and advice on stakeholder engagement strategies for projects.

**The position may include among other activities**:
Project Management/ Support
- Attending regular community engagement team meetings.
- Providing inductions/training for contractors to raise awareness of community engagement obligations.
- Assisting in the preparation of community and stakeholder engagement plans for projects.
- Reporting on complaints and inquiries.

Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Attending regular planning, design and construction meetings to identify/discuss potential community impacts associated with program activities.
- Visiting work sites to assess potential community impacts and deliver project notifications
- Developing and implementing community & stakeholder engagement plans for specific projects.
- Proactively advising project stakeholders of upcoming works that may impact them.
- Fielding day-to-day stakeholder enquiries and complaints and escalate as required.
- Managing and updating the stakeholder contact database.
- Assisting with ongoing stakeholder negotiations regarding property access, construction impacts and site restoration.
- Planning and implementing project events including construction launches, site tours/community events and commissioning ceremonies.
- Reviewing and approving the subcontractor data & project comms.

**What we'll love about you**

We specifically seek a self-starter with:

- Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations or marketing, or relevant (or experience in a similar role).
- 1-3 years of experience working in corporate communication and/or community engagement.
- Demonstrated experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience working on infrastructure projects.
- Well-developed writing, communication and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated experience resolving challenging stakeholder engagement issues/stakeholder complaints.
- Ability to work on multiple projects/tasks at once.
- Proven ability to work with limited supervision.
