About the role
We are looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented and customer focussed events professional to join our team. The role coordinates Council’s monthly Citizenship ceremonies, coordinates Council’s Citizen of the Year and Young Citizen of the Year awards and assists with other events while providing top-tier administrative support to our department.
In this role, you will ensure the seamless service delivery for these events assisting the Manager Governance and Legal and liaising closely with the Mayor and Councillors.
In addition, you will manage departmental correspondence, oversee councillor expenses, maintain efficient administrative systems and keep our departmental internet content up to date.
This position offers a unique opportunity to be an integral part of our civic events, while contributing to the governance functions that uphold the values and vision of the City of Boroondara.
About You
You are an experienced events and administrative professional with a proven track record of managing complex schedules, events, and systems. Your exceptional time management, communication, and organisational skills allow you to thrive in a fast-paced environment. With a keen eye for detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities, you are adept at problem-solving and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
You are skilled in event coordination and have a passion for delivering high-quality civic events and can handle sensitive information with discretion. This role offers flexibility with hours, but equally requires out of hours work to manage the key events like Citizenship Ceremonies which occur in the evenings.
