**About the Team**:
Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) is developing its Computational and Data Intensive Sciences (CDIS) and Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI) capability areas supported by a new High Performance Computing (HPC) Centre, to enable DSTG to remain at the forefront of Defence research. DSTG's HPC will provide world class computational and data systems for innovative advanced research, development, modelling, simulation and experimentation to optimise Defence platform design and operational performance, force development and optimisation, and to solve difficult and complex real-world Defence problems.
**Position Overview**:
The HPC Operations Administrator is accountable under limited direction for the day to day operations of the supporting systems in the secure HPC data Centre. They will work closely with the HPC teams managing the compute and storage infrastructure, and the wider DRI.
**Duties, responsilibites and experience required**:
- Facilitate and support auxiliary infrastructure tools required across the HPC infrastructure team,
- such as configuration management, change management, monitoring and audit.
- Manage external interfaces to the HPC, such as power, cooling and networking.
- Forecast growth and develop plans for improvements to the HPC facility, including power, cooling
- and space requirements.
- Expore, develop and operate automation within the facility, such as data collection and reporting.
