**About the Team;**

Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) is developing its Computational and Data Intensive Sciences (CDIS) and Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI) capability areas supported by a new High Performance Computing (HPC) Centre, to enable DSTG to remain at the forefront of Defence research. DSTG's HPC will provide world class computational and data systems for innovative advanced research, development, modelling, simulation and experimentation to optimise Defence platform design and operational performance, force development and optimisation, and to solve difficult and complex real-world Defence problems.

As a **Database Administrator** you will have;
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Administering Microsoft SQL databases.
- Experience with Database Administration for various database types.
- Knowledge of data management and related processing systems suitable for a research context.
- Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimisation (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
- Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for data systems and solutions.
- Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts.
- Experience working with Windows/Linux environments.
